The Employees Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) has unveiled a significant pension increase, marking a positive step for pensioners across Pakistan. Effective January 1, 2025, the minimum pension will increase from Rs10,000 to Rs11,500, while pensions above Rs10,000 will also see a 15% hike.
This decision was made following a review meeting on Monday, chaired by Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Salik Hussain. During the meeting, EOBI’s performance for the fiscal year 2024-25 was evaluated, revealing a remarkable 40% increase in the institution’s revenue, which reached Rs 116 billion, compared to the previous year.
The briefing also outlined future plans, including expanding EOBI’s coverage to institutions with fewer than 10 employees, ensuring that more workers can benefit from pension schemes. In addition, the government has decided to extend EOBI coverage to various sectors such as agriculture, domestic work, finance, and legal institutions, further broadening the scope of social security in the country.
The formal announcement of this pension increase will coincide with Labor Day on May 1, 2025, providing a timely and much-needed boost to pensioners and reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to improving social welfare.

📢 Attention EOBI Officials | Pensioners Await Promised 15% Increase
As of August 2025, EOBI pensioners have not yet received the 15% increase in pension that was announced for implementation from January 2025.
🔸 8 months have passed without any notification or disbursement of the increase.
🔸 This delay is causing serious financial hardship for thousands of elderly citizens who rely solely on EOBI pensions.
🔸 Transparency and timely action are urgently needed.
📌 We request the EOBI Board and Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis & HRD to:
1. Issue a clear statement regarding the delay.
2. Announce the release date for the increased pension.
3. Ensure arrears from January 2025 are also paid.

My eobi card is made in June 2025. I did not widral of pensiom. Ist pention will draw in Sep 1 2025 . Would pention increase 11500will creditvto my credit acount 11500x 8. w.e.f Jan 1st. full pention of six moth that will be credit in my account
Eboi Pakistan issued me leter whereas my pension is starting from Dec,2024.rate is Rs 10,000 I received letter on Aug 11, 2025. . . meanwhile govt announce 15 % increase pention by Jan ,2025. then it will come to 11500 base line pention . let me know how much tatal pensition upto Sep 1,2025 I will receive. on Sep first I will receive pention from jan Ist to Sep 1 2025. they will include my base line pention from Jan Ist 2025 till Sep 1. please let me know how much my pention is due with 7 month Arrears.
