‘Project Reconnect’ platform launched to promote ‘nation building’ film, TV, digital content

LAHORE: “Project Reconnect” is an emerging platform launched to create a network between film and media professionals. It aims to produce and facilitate audio visual content that includes TV, film and digital media. More so to tell inspirational stories that can reconnect the nation with the forgotten wisdom. A legacy that lead to produce humans who achieved refined brains and minds.

The main objective of the platform is to identify positive universally connected themes, networking with film professionals and to create as well as facilitate film productions for the nation building.

This platform is a brain child of Majid Rafiq and Syed Kashif Mohsin who are film enthusiast with over 20 years of experience in filmmaking and many branches of creative work.

Majid said: We feel that TV and film are powerful tools which if used properly can outlay message in an engaging way which not only reconnects us to our roots but also builds a character in sync with the universe.  We want to network with passionate film makers to produce meaningful content.

He added that we were also inspired by Prime minister Imran Khan’s statements on this subject as he encouraged film makers to produce content that can highlight glorious achievements of Muslims and to encounter Islamophobia.

Syed Kashif Mohsin added: “We feel that the over all audio visual medium, including the entertainment industry, is being under utilised in producing a content that can give a purposeful direction to our youth as we notice a constant decline in both TV and film as far as meaningful content is concerned. Now we are in the age of digital era. A time that has proven that powerful story telling can change the hearts, minds, fate and the future of humanity.”

Prominent personalities have also endorsed the platform by becoming Project Reconnect’s patrons. The names include Dr Yasmin Rashid, Andleeb Abbas, Prof Dr Javed Iqbal, Rizwan Mumtaz Ali, Tahir Yusuf, Afaq Tiwana and Hamid Mirza.

Project Reconnect has also joined hands with two honourable international personalities such as Turgay Evren from Turkey and Muhannad Abu Ghazaleh from Qatar as patrons of the platform since the Founders have plans to take this endeavor international.

Project Reconnect is holding its first short film festival in month of May. It is to identify, screen and promote a nation building content from the upcoming film makers. This is the first event lead by a series of events in lined with the objectives of the platform.
