‘Kidnaped’ girl recovered from her sister’s house by Kotri police

KOTRI: The mystery disappearance of 8th grader from Miskin Colony in Kotri area has been solved by the police.

The minor missing girl was recovered from her sister’s house and later the police produced her in the court.

Karishma Magsi, an 8th grade student was reported missing and the news went viral on social media. Following the news, Jamshoro Bar General Secretary Akhtar Ali Abro and Supreme Court Advocate Ijaz Awan visited the house of the missing girl and met her father. They assured the family that all efforts would be made to recover the girl the soonest.

Himmat Ali Magsi, the father of the missing girl, lodged a case of Karishma’s abduction against three persons including Naik Mohammad Magsi, Amir Magsi and Munir Ahmed Soomro in Kotri police station.

Twelve days after the incident, police raided a house of Karishma’s elder sister living in Daur and recovered Karishma and produced her in the court.

According to SHO Kotri, Khair Muhammad Mallah and Head Muharrar Ramzan Brahmani, the girl’s father created a drama of kidnapping and registered a case against the nephews. He has personal enmity with them over property and other domestic issues.

The SHO said that action would be taken against Himmat Ali Magsi for lodging a false case.

Apart from this, Karisma’s parents along with their relatives, protested in front of Kotri Press Club. The family alleged that the abductors left the child at her elder sister’s house as soon as the case of abduction was registered, while the police are pressurising and harassing the affected family.

They have demanded of the chief minister and IG Sindh to take notice of unfair attitude of the police and provide justice.
