PM Shehbaz Sharif urges Qatari investment in Pakistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to elevate its strong ties with Qatar into a mutually advantageous economic partnership.

During a meeting with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Shehbaz emphasized the importance of bolstering bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and investment.

Highlighting the pivotal role of the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the Prime Minister encouraged Qatar to expand its investment footprint in Pakistan, particularly in priority sectors. He assured swift coordination through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to facilitate this endeavor.

Shehbaz warmly welcomed the Qatari delegation, underlining Pakistan’s deep-rooted, friendly relationship with Qatar and mutual support during challenging times. He conveyed his regards to Qatar’s leadership, including Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrehman bin Jassim Al Thani.

The Qatari Minister of State expressed gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed Qatar’s commitment to strengthening its brotherly ties with Pakistan, along with a keen interest in investing in the country. He delivered a special message from Qatar’s leadership, emphasizing their desire for closer bonds with Pakistan.

The visit of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar as a special envoy underscores the importance both countries attach to nurturing their relationship.
