UoE pays tribute to teachers for determining future of society

LAHORE: In order to pay tribute to the teachers on International Teachers’ Day, a grand ceremony was held at the main Township Campus of the University of Education here on Thursday.

Chief guest on the occasion was former Home Economics University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Amin (TI) while University of Education Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha presided over the ceremony. Director Division of Education Prof Dr Ayaz Muhammad Khan, principals/directors and a large number of students were also present on this occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, VC Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said that it is undeniable fact that teachers are the nation builders, therefore teachers should be given respect at all levels. “Purpose of celebrating the day is to recognize the constructive role of teachers and their being the most important component of our society who determines future of the society”, he pointed out, adding the role of teachers and their importance in the betterment of the society cannot be neglected in any way.

On the occasion, former Home Economics University VC and Educationist Prof Dr Kanwal Amin said that although no one can deny the important role of teachers, it is also important for a teacher to pay the right to this distinction by words and actions because the teacher is not only for the students but also the ideal figure for the entire society.

“It is the teachers who give us awareness through education, teach us how to live despite adverse conditions of life, without the help of our teachers we can neither determine our destination nor can achieve destination”, he added.
