Former interior minister Raja Nader Pervez dies in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Former federal interior minister Raja Nader Pervez passed away in Faisalabad, drawing condolences from political leaders and social figures across the country.

Major (retd) Raja Nader Pervez served as Pakistan’s interior minister and later held the portfolio of minister for water and power during his political career. He was regarded as a seasoned parliamentarian with long standing involvement in national politics.

He was elected to the National Assembly five times, winning four elections from Faisalabad and one from Rawalpindi, underscoring his electoral strength in both constituencies.

Throughout his political career, Raja Nader Pervez remained affiliated with several major political parties. He was associated at different times with the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad.

His death was met with expressions of sorrow from across the political spectrum, with many paying tribute to his contributions to parliamentary politics and public service.
