GWADAR: The Quetta Electric Supply Company (QUESCO) is set to supply 2 megawatts of electricity to the Pak-China Friendship Hospital (PCFH) in Gwadar, ensuring a steady power supply for the facility’s full-scale medical operations.
According to officials, the construction of power transmission lines and related infrastructure was completed in the first week of November 2025. The new connection will enable the hospital to run all its departments and medical equipment at optimal capacity.
A PCFH representative told Gwadar Pro that the dedicated feeder line has been laid from the main grid station to guarantee uninterrupted electricity to the hospital.
Until now, the facility had been partially reliant on diesel generators, costing around Rs2 million per month, to meet its power needs. Due to inconsistent supply, several heavy medical machines had remained non-functional.
Operational since June 2024, the Pak-China Friendship Hospital provides free healthcare to more than 212,000 patients across Gwadar and other parts of Balochistan, particularly women and children in its outpatient and emergency departments.
