Snowfall in Neelum Valley increases intensity of cold

LAHORE: Snowfall in tourist spots of Neelum Valley which started on Saturday night and continued till next day has increased the intensity of cold in the cold in the country especially adjacent areas.

According to details, Keran, Upper Neelum, Lovat Bala, Sharda and Udang Kiel, Taubat, Jagran, Shunthar, Grace and Sargan valleys of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) received continuous snowfall.

A fresh wave of westerly winds was likely to enter Balochistan to which rain, hailstorm and snowfall were expected over Balochistan.

The weather has become extremely cold due to freezing winds in the upper regions including Ziarat, Kan Mehtarzai and Toba Achakzai.

According to the Meteorological Department, there was a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunder and snow in the mountainous areas Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Potohar region and Islamabad.

Closure of Karakoram Highway due to landslides caused severe disruption of traffic on both sides of the road.
