Institutions must be neutral, next PM from JI: Siraj

LAHORE: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq has said that all institutions should be neutral and the next prime minister will be from JI.

Addressing a news conference in Lahore, he said that the job of the army was to protect the borders of the country and the role of the establishment was defined in the constitution.

Sirajul Haq said that all the institutions of Pakistan including the army should be neutral, the institutions do not belong to any party but belong to 25 crore people.

He said that we have seen Pakistan Peoples Party, Muslim League (N) and Pakistan Tehreek (PTI) while we have also seen dictators in the form of Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan and General Zia.

The JI chief said that he expects the Election Commission will ensure transparent elections and claimed that next prime minister will be from his party.

Reacting to the statement of Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari regarding elderly person, Siraj said that the PPP chairman was referring to his father.
