Dams pipeline solves drinking water problem in Gwadar: GDA

GWADAR: The completion of a 158km pipeline, constructed to channel water from the Shadi Kor and Swad dams, has successfully resolved the water scarcity issue for the residents of Gwadar town.

“GDA has successfully completed one of the most challenging water projects in Gwadar town,” tweeted Director General Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Mujeeb Ur Rehman Qambarani.

He stated that GDA has also installed a new 141 km water distribution pipeline to ensure every household in the city has access to drinking water. “New house connections are being provided to households.

Sufficient water is available; even more than the daily demand,” Qambarani noted.

GDA has built four underground storage tanks in different parts of Gwadar City with a collective storage capacity of 10 million gallons of water. Despite the project’s scale, the water pipeline projects were completed swiftly, thanks to the diligent oversight of all relevant government authorities.

The water supply now consistently reaches all city inhabitants, a development that has been warmly received by the residents of Gwadar Gwadar Pro reported on Wednesday.
