Full throttle presence of Chinese e-commerce giants in TEXPO 2023

KARACHI: The 4th edition of TEXPO 2023 attracted major Chinese e-commerce giants including Ali Baba, operators of Pakistan Pavilions on JD.com and Douyin, said Ghulam Qadir, Commercial Counsellor at the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing.

Ghulam Qadir told Gwadar Pro that the keenness shown by Chinese e-commerce platforms could benefit Pakistani exports in a big way.

“These companies held many B2B meetings with Pakistani companies with quality textiles, apparel, leather products, and footwear.

To reach the 10-billion-U.S. dollar export mark, tapping the Chinese e-commerce market is a sine qua non for Pakistan,” he mentioned.

He further said that the government of China is also facilitating Pakistan’s exports through online and offline pavilions. “We must strengthen Pakistani business industry with the help of Chinese investment in all fields, particularly industry relocation.”

“The presence of Chinese e-commerce giants at the TEXPO 2023 is expected to be a game changer for the textile industry in Pakistan. With the growing Chinese Pakistani Enterprises, it is anticipated that they will bring forth innovative ideas and strategies to revolutionize the e-Commerce sector in Pakistan,” he added.

Ghulam Qadir said that TEXPO 2023 will open up new opportunities for both Chinese and Pakistani businesses. It will also give a major boost to Pakistan’s e-commerce industry, which is currently dominated by international players.

With this event, Pakistanis can look forward to more competitive prices, better quality products, and improved customer services.

It is to be noted that more than 400 delegates from 60 countries participated in TEXPO 2023, with around 100 Chinese enterprises joining from different parts of China.
