COAS Gen Munir visits Quaid’s mausoleum

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir during his maiden trip to Karachi after assuming the charge as Army Chief visited mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to pay homage to the founder of Nation.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief laid floral wreath and offered Fateha at Quaid’s mausoleum.

The COAS visited Corps Headquarters Karachi during which he was briefed on Operational, Security and other matters of the formation including assistance to civil administration during recent natural calamity in Sindh particularly interior Sindh.

Gen. Asim Munir appreciated Army and Ranger’s troops for operational preparedness and reaching out to people of Sindh during recent unprecedented floods in the country.

The COAS praised formation, allied organisations and law enforcement agencies for maintaining safe and secure environment in the province particularly megapolitan city of Karachi.

Earlier, on arrival at Karachi, the Army Chief was received by Lieutenant General Muhammad Saeed, Corps Commander Karachi.
