Imran claims ‘audio leak’ damaged Shehbaz’s reputation and not his

MUZAFFARABAD: Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chief Imran Khan on Thursday declared that the leaked audio conversation between him and his principal secretary had damaged Shahbaz Sharif’s reputation and not his.

Addressing the public gathering in Muzaffarabad, Imran Khan said that over 100,000 people have sacrificed their lives in the struggle for Kashmir’s independence. He said that he would fight for the Kashmir cause until he is alive.

He added that their government ended all ties with India when Narendra Modi’s government ended Kashmir’s special constitutional status. Trade with India would be beneficial but we did not prefer it over our Kashmiri brothers’ struggle, he added.

Imran Khan thanked Shahbaz Sharif for allegedly leaking his audio conversation with his principal secretary Azam Khan.

The PTI chief said that Sindh is submerged in floods while Bilawal Bhutto is touring America. Shehbaz Sharif begged a female journalist for funds, he added.

Ishaq Dar, who was an absconder for five years, has returned to the country and has been appointed the finance minister, he added. If these powerful people are given NRO, then why are the poor people booked? Imran Khan questioned.

The PTI chief told that the rupee has depreciated 33% since this government took charge.  In 2018, Pakistan had its highest current account deficit of over $20 billion.

Addressing the ECP Chief Sultan Sikander Raja, Imran Khan said that if he has any shame, he should resign immediately. He added that the current government reduced Kashmir’s budget from Rs200 billion to Rs60 billion. He urged the people of Kashmir to come out with their families on his call.

Imran thanks people for generous donations

Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Thursday thanked people who generously donated for the flood victims in Pakistan.

PTI Senator and former BISP chairperson Dr Sania Nishtar called on former prime minister Imran Khan to apprise him of the donations collected for the flood victims so far.

Senator Shibli Faraz, chief of staff of Imran Khan and Salman Aftab were also present in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, former prime minister and PTI chairman thanked the people for generously donating for the people affected due to floods. He vowed to distribute the funds to the flood victims as the catastrophe has badly affected a large portion of the country’s population.

Earlier this month, former prime minister and PTI chairman khan held third telethon to raise funds for the rehabilitation of flood victims in Pakistan.

Addressing the telethon, Khan had said that never in the history, Rs10 billion were collected during five hours of two telethon. “We would be using these funds in a transparent manner and will devise a system that will bring transparency in their utilization,” he had assured.
