LAHORE: Police on Wednesday arrested a suspected man in connection with rape of a 10-year-old mentally charged girl in Basti Cheragh Shah in South Cantonment area of Lahore.
SP Cantt Isa Sukhera said that the police traced the man with the help of CCTV cameras’ footage and other circumstantial evidence. The investigation with the arrested man is underway, he added.
The SP further informed that the medical examination of the victim girl had also been conducted.
On Tuesday, the father of the victim girl registered an FIR with the South Cantt Police, Lahore complaining that his 10-year-old mentally charged daughter was raped when she went out of the house on Monday afternoon. He said when she came back, her dress was soiled with blood stains. He said his sister gave her shower and after that told him that his daughter was sexually abused by someone.
The father requested the police to provide him justice by apprehending the culprit.
CCPO Ghulam Muhammad Dogar also took notice of the incident and ordered police to arrest the suspect.
