GUJRAT: Norwegian Embassy officials and a delegation from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) visited Gujrat on Wednesday and visited the Women and Juvenile Facilitation Center, set up for the victims of sexual abuse, Crime Scene Unit and Model Police Station Civil Lines.
According to Details, Norwegian Embassy officials and a UNODC delegation paid a special visit to District Gujrat, during which they visited the Women and Juvenile Center set up for the protection of sexually abused women and children, Crime Scene Unit and Model Police Station Civil Lines.
The delegation was comprised of Ms Vigdis Heloversen, First Secretary, Head of Development Programs, Mr. Per Martin Bjartan, Nordic Police Liaison Officer, Mr. Baitullah Khan, Program Manager Police and Mr. Saeed Hussain Shah, Program Coordinator.
Upon arrival in Gujrat, the delegation was received by District Police Officer, Umar Salamat. The delegation was briefed by Incharge Women & Juvenile Center, Farzana Kausar about the working of the Women and Juvenile Center and the facilities provided to the affected women and children.
The delegation also visited the Crime Scene Unit located in Police Lines, where the Crime Scene Unit incharge Hasan Askari briefed the delegation about the role of Crime Scene Unit in the police investigation.
Later, the delegation also visited Model Police Station Civil Lines. The delegation was given a tour of different parts of the Special Initiative Model Police Station and was briefed about the facilities provided to the citizens at the Model Police Station.
