Shaukat Tarin, Saifullah Nyazee discuss strategy for Senate election

ISLAMABAD: Advisor to the PM on Finance & Revenue Shaukat Tarin Friday held a detailed meeting with Chief Organiser of  Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) Senator Saifullah Khan Nyazee and discussed strategy to help him win the Senate election from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Per sources, Tarin and Nyazee detailed a strategy to help win the upcoming election of Senate against a seat vacated by Senator Ayub Afridi.

Later, Tarin told media that coronavirus poses an extraordinary challenge to global economies and governments around the world are trying to overcome the problem of inflation.

He said that the PTI government is taking steps to protect the people in general and the poor in particular from the deadly effects of global economic pressures. He said the prime minister has launched a scheme to provide food items to millions of families at below market prices under Ehsaas initiative.

He said he had held in-depth discussions with Senator Nayzee on important issues regarding the prevention of rise in prices of essential commodities, especially food items.

Senator Nyazee assured his full support to the finance advisor to curb inflation. He said that PTI as a party is ready to provide full support to the advisor and his team to control inflation, adding that qualified and experienced workers have been made part of these teams, as per the procedure laid down in the scope of law.

He said that it is very important to curb inflation, adding that it is necessary to control the trend of raising prices by controlling hoarding. The advisor thanked Nyazee for the offer of support in this regard.

Separately, Shaukat Tarin Friday greeted Ameer Khurram Rathore, Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and extended his felicitations to the designated ambassador on his new responsibilities and conveyed his best wishes for success.

The adviser further stated that the Ministry of Finance would continue to support his efforts for further strengthening brotherly relations between the two countries.

Rathore paid a courtesy call on Adviser to the Shaukat Tarin at the Finance Division, said a press release issued here. The ambassador said that the bilateral relations between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are deep rooted in history and would further strengthen in future.
