Covid-19 vaccination centers in Sindh to remain open during Eid holidays

KARACHI: The Sindh government will open coronavirus vaccination for citizens aged 18 and above after Eid.

This was announced by Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho while inaugurating a mega vaccination centre on Monday. She said that those aged 18 and above would be able to get vaccinated from May 16.

Separately, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah chaired a meeting of the coronavirus task force.

During the session, the CM directed to administer coronavirus vaccine to 0.1 million people across the province on daily basis. Vaccination centers will remain open during the Eidul Fitr holidays, he said.

The CM also appealed to the people to stay at home and take precautionary measures in order to avoid contracting the infection.

Earlier, he said that 16 more patients of coronavirus lost their lives in the province, escalating the toll to over 4,000 whereas more than 900 new cases were confirmed against over 14,000 tests during the last 24 hours.

According to a statement issued, Murad disclosed that more than 200,000 patients were recovered from the disease including 586 in the last 24 hours.

Murad further stated that the condition of 592 coronavirus patients was stated to be critical.
