Rasheed lauds Coast Guards’ role against smuggling, drugs

KARACHI: Minister of Interior Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has lauded the professional role of the Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG), stating that the PCG is committed to performing its duties on land and sea against smuggling, drugs and other heinous crimes.

This was said while he was visiting the PCG Headquarters (HQ) in Karachi on Friday.

According to the spokesperson of PCG, the interior minister laid a floral wreath on the martyrs’ monument and paid tribute. He was briefed about the professional matters of PCG, operations against smuggling and PCG responsibilities.

On this occasion, he said that the PCG played an important role not only in time of peace but also in any war situation. Rasheed assured that full cooperation will be provided to strengthen and more functionalize the PCG by the government.

Earlier, PCG director-general (DG) received the federal minister on his arrival.
