Khan directs Hamid to approach courts for release of party activists

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has directed renowned lawyer Hamid Khan to approach the courts for the release of the party supporters.

According to details, renowned lawyer Hamid Khan held a meeting with PTI chief Imran Khan and deliberated on the countrywide crackdown launched against the party supporters.

Hamid apprised Imran about the legal aspects of the matter and the government’s apprehension to release the PTI activists.

Imran termed the arrests of the PTI workers and leaders “unjustified”, stressing that the “conspiracy to destroy” his party would never succeed.
On May 9, violent protests broke out across the country following the arrest of the PTI chairman from the Islamabad High Court on the orders of the National Accountability Bureau by the Rangers in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

The alleged PTI protesters barged into the residence of the Lahore corps commander (Jinnah House), and after ransacking it, set the furniture on fire.
At the same time in Rawalpindi, protesters entered the GHQ and damaged its gate. The federal government then launched a nationwide crackdown against the party activists and leaders.
