The CCPO issued the directives while chairing a high-level meeting at his office to review the operational and investigative performance of the Iqbal Town and Saddar divisions.
The meeting was attended by DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar, DIG (Operations) Faisal Kamran, SSP (Investigation) Muhammad Naveed, SSP (Operations) Tauqeer Muhammad Naeem, along with divisional SPs, ASPs, Circle Officers, SHOs and Investigation In-charges of the Iqbal Town and Saddar divisions.
Reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy against social evils, Mr Kamyana ordered an indiscriminate crackdown on drug trafficking and gambling dens operating across the city. He also issued a stern warning that the wrongful arrest of any citizen would not be tolerated under any circumstances, stressing that transparency, fairness and justice must remain the guiding principles of criminal investigations.
He further directed investigators to accord special attention to financial crime cases to ensure the speedy disposal of investigations and provide timely relief to victims.
Reviewing localized security arrangements, the CCPO observed that the installation of security barriers in residential areas had produced encouraging results in strengthening neighbourhood security. He directed police officers to engage with the management of housing societies to further promote the concept of gated communities as part of preventive policing measures.
To enhance security in rural areas, Mr Kamyana ordered the revival and activation of the traditional Thikri Pehra (community night watch) system to help curb incidents of burglary and theft through greater community participation.
Reiterating his resolve to tighten the noose around active burglars and thieves, the CCPO directed police officers to ensure their immediate arrest and bring them to justice without delay.
In an effort to reinforce the writ of the law, he also ordered an indiscriminate crackdown on the display of illegal weapons, vehicles with tinted windows and the ostentatious "Dallah culture." He urged police officers to adopt modern, intelligence-led and professional policing techniques to effectively combat crime and improve public safety.
Earlier, participants of the meeting offered Fateha and expressed deep condolences over the demise of the sister of SP Saddar (Investigation).

During the meeting, both sides agreed to further enhance mutual cooperation and reached a consensus on establishing a dedicated Police Khidmat Markaz within the premises of the Lahore Session Court.
The CCPO said the facility would provide lawyers, litigants and members of the public with one-window access to essential police services, making service delivery more efficient, accessible and convenient.

To further improve day-to-day coordination and facilitate the prompt resolution of issues, it was also agreed that the Lahore Bar Association would nominate dedicated focal persons at the divisional level.
Bilal Siddique Kamyana said the police and the legal fraternity shared a collective responsibility to uphold the supremacy of the law and protect public confidence in the justice system.
He added that the effective administration of justice, constitutional supremacy and the maintenance of public order required close and sustained cooperation among the bench, the bar and law enforcement agencies.
