Govt reviews steps to improve passport home delivery for overseas Pakistanis
The government is reviewing further steps to improve passport home delivery for overseas Pakistanis. Officials from the passport directorate, Nadra and DHL met in Islamabad to discuss a faster and more reliable process.

ISLAMABAD: The federal government is considering further measures to improve passport home delivery services for Pakistanis living abroad as part of efforts to facilitate the diaspora.
Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa chaired a meeting with representatives of Nadra and DHL on the instructions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The meeting focused on making the passport home delivery service for overseas Pakistanis quicker, simpler and more dependable.
Participants also agreed to finalise the procedure for passport home delivery and decided to strengthen coordination among the institutions involved to provide greater convenience to overseas Pakistanis.
The review comes days after the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports introduced a doorstep passport delivery service under which applicants can receive their travel documents without visiting collection centres. The initiative was launched on the interior minister’s directions to improve public facilitation and streamline the delivery process.
An official statement said the service would allow applicants to receive their passports at their registered addresses instead of collecting them from passport offices.
Cashless system already introduced
Earlier, Mohsin Naqvi had announced that cashless transactions had become operational at all passport offices across the country. In a post on X, he said the change was introduced to ease the process for applicants.
Naqvi said “Applicants no longer need to stand in long queues or wait for hours to make payments.”
He added that the reform had been carried out on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and said his team had delivered on that task.
This is another step towards making public services faster, more transparent, and more convenient for our citizens. Many more milestones lie ahead, and, InshaAllah, we will continue to achieve them.
