Passport home delivery service launched across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has introduced a home delivery service for passports across Pakistan through a private courier company, allowing applicants to receive the document at their registered addresses.

The facility has been launched on the directions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi as part of measures aimed at easing the process for applicants and improving the delivery system, according to an official statement.

Under the new arrangement, passport applicants will no longer need to collect their passports from passport offices, as the documents will be sent directly to the address provided during the application process.

The rollout follows another recent change in passport services announced by Naqvi, who said cashless transactions had been made operational at all passport offices nationwide. In a post on X, the interior minister said “Applicants no longer need to stand in long queues or wait for hours to make payments”.

Naqvi said the reform had been initiated on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and added that his team had implemented it. He further said “This is another step towards making public services faster, more transparent, and more convenient for our citizens. Many more milestones lie ahead, and, InshaAllah, we will continue to achieve them”, he added.

He also praised the passport staff, saying “Keep up the excellent work”.
