Alia Soomro denounces false claims and propaganda

KARACHI: Professional boxer Alia Soomro, from Karachi’s Lyari area, has dismissed allegations that she falsely claims to be a world champion, asserting that she has only ever stated she won a tournament. In a video statement, Soomro expressed her pride in representing Pakistan internationally in boxing and condemned a malicious campaign aimed at defaming her.

Soomro accused certain biased individuals of spreading false claims, including labeling professional boxing as “fake” because they cannot accept a woman’s success in the sport. “These are the same people who believe women belong only in the kitchen, but they are wrong,” she asserted, reaffirming her commitment to continuing her boxing career and breaking stereotypes.
