PM Shehbaz Sharif Hails Pakistan’s Victory, Praises Armed Forces After India’s Failed Attack

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for delivering a strong response to India’s recent aggression, calling it a major victory. Addressing the National Assembly, he described India’s attempt to strike Pakistan as “cowardly” and lauded the military for turning a dark night into one of triumph.

In his speech, the prime minister condemned the accusations made by Indian media and politicians following the Pahalgam terror attack. “The enemy tried to strike under the cover of darkness but failed,” PM Shehbaz asserted. He added that India had attempted to mislead the international community by blaming Pakistan for the incident, which he called a baseless accusation.

The prime minister also addressed a recent attack in Balochistan, where terrorists hijacked a train. He emphasized that Pakistan had solid evidence about the attack and commended the Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) for rescuing the passengers and preventing further tragedy.

PM Shehbaz highlighted the bravery of Pakistan’s military, particularly the Air Force, which he said was fully prepared when India launched airstrikes targeting locations like Muridke and Sialkot. “Last night, eighty Indian planes flew. But our eagles were ready,” he remarked, adding that the Pakistan Armed Forces were on high alert, prepared to retaliate against any threat.

The prime minister took a moment to praise Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar and the Pakistani pilots for inflicting significant damage on India’s air forces. “The Indian aircraft were forced to retreat, and we had real-time information on their movements,” he said.

He reassured the nation that while the situation remained a conventional conflict, the threat of nuclear war was not immediate. PM Shehbaz expressed confidence that India had learned that Pakistan was not to be underestimated.

He also took the opportunity to honor Pakistan’s fallen heroes, stating that a funeral prayer for a martyr would be held in Islamabad, and that he, the army chief, and the president would attend. “Our martyrs are the true heroes of Pakistan,” he said.

In conclusion, PM Shehbaz called on all political parties and forces to unite in strengthening Pakistan’s constitution and to work together for the nation’s prosperity. “Let us show the world that we stand united,” he urged.
