SHC tribunal suspends MQM MPA Rashid Khan’s assembly membership

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court Election Tribunal on Monday suspended the membership of MQM’s Sindh Assembly member Rashid Khan.

As per the details, the tribunal reviewed a petition filed by PPP candidate Mukhtiar Ahmed Dhamra, challenging the results of provincial constituency PS-64.

The petitioner alleged election rigging by MQM during the 2024 general elections, claiming polling station attacks and voter harassment.

Dissatisfied with the Election Commission’s response, the PPP had candidate approached the tribunal for justice.

The court expressed dissatisfaction over Rashid Khan’s repeated absence from hearings and gave its decision of suspending the MNA’s membership.
