Omar strongly condemns abduction of MNA Shafqat’s brother, demands his immediate release

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary General and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan strongly condemned the abduction of MNA Advocate Shafqat Awan’s younger brother Advocate Wasim Awan from Sargodha by unknown people, demanding an immediate release of Advocate Wasim.

In his strongly-worded reaction over the abduction of Wasim Awan, PTI Secretary General said that Advocate Shafqat Awan’s younger brother was kidnapped from Sargodha City a short while ago by unknown people, most probably intelligence operatives.

Omar stated that these unconstitutional actions have adversely affected Pakistan. “We have repeatedly raised this issue in Parliament, demonstrated against it, and members of the Judiciary have written a letter to the Chief Justice,” he added.

The Opposition Leader went on to say that these unlawful actions were being noted by the global community, and it was one of the primary reasons for not investing in Pakistan.

“Nobody wants to invest in a country that has no rule of law because that country is branded as a ‘Banana Republic’,” he lamented.
