Four die of suffocation in Chakwal’s paper mills, youth shot dead on resistance

CHAKWAL/BAHAWALNAGAR: Four labourers died of suffocation after they fell into well during routine work here on Monday, rescue sources said.

According to details, while working within Manowal paper mills of Chakwal, fire labourers fell into a 8-feet deep well.

As a result, four labourers including Aamir, Zeeshan, Muhammad Saqib Saqib and Jamshed died of suffocation of accumulation of poisonous gas.

The bodies of the killed labourers were pulled out. The police and administration sealed the paper mill and started raids to arrest the owner of the paper mill.

In Bahawalnagar, Armed robbers gunned down a youth and injured another over resistance here on Monday, police said.

According to details, motorcycle riding robbers intercepted two youth in suburban area of Bahawalnagar.

Over resistance, the robbers opened straight fire killing one youth identified as Abdullah on the spot, leaving other critically injured and sped the scene.

The body and injured were shifted to local hospital for medico-legal formalities and police after registering a case against unidentified culprits started investigations.
