A contingent of Chinese PLA joined the Guard of Honour at the Parade Ground here Islamabad as Pakistani forces parade on the National Day of Pakistan.

A few days back, during a routine press briefing, Senior Colonel Zhang Xiaogang, the Chinese Defense Spokesperson, had announced that a delegation from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) would join the Pakistan Day parade upon the invitation of the Pakistani military.

The PLA’s participation in the parade, scheduled for mid-to-late March, commemorates Pakistan Day, which marks the adoption of the Lahore Resolution in 1940 by the All-India Muslim League. This resolution called for a separate nation for Muslims within the British Indian Empire.

Notably, the PLA’s Honor Guards, established in 1952, are renowned for their participation in various national and international events, including welcoming ceremonies for foreign dignitaries in China and parades in countries like Mexico, Italy, and Venezuela.
