PHC orders removal of Noorul Haq Qadri’s name from ECL

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Thursday ordered removal of the name of former minister religious affairs Noorul Haq Qadri from Exit Control List (ECL).

A division bench of the PHC, comprising Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and Justice Waqar Ahmed heard the petition filed by PTI leader Noorul Haq Qadri against placing his name on the Exit Control List (ECL).

Advocate Sikander Hayat Shah, the counsel for the petitioner, argued in the court that the name of Noorul Haq Qadri had been included in the ECL. He said that his client was invited by Saudi Arabia and he was set to leave for Saudi Arabia at 6pm today but due to inclusion of his name in ECL, he could not leave for abroad.

After hearing argument, the PHC directed for removal of the name of Qadri from ECL.
