LHC serves contempt notice on FIA DG, Punjab IGP

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday issued notices to Director General of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP), seeking reply in a contempt of court petition.

The court directed the FIA DG and the Punjab IGP to submit their reply till March 25.

The court served the notices on the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Punjab Inspector General of Police over their failure to comply with the court’s orders.

Justice Ali Baqir Najafi heard the petition of British-born Pakistani Syed Mudassar Ali who took plea in his application that the FIA DG and the Punjab IG Police had ignored the court orders and are liable for contempt of court.

The petitioner has made DG FIA Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir and Punjab IGP Dr Usman Anwar respondents in the plea.
