Buttar challenges Aleem Khan’s victory from NA 117 Lahore

ISLAMABAD: PTI-backed independent candidate Ali Ijaz Buttar on Tuesday moved the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against Aleem Khan’s victory in NA-117 Lahore.

In his petitioner, Advocate Buttar challenged the victory notification of Istehkam-e-Pakistan (IPP) leader Abdul Aleem Khan from NA-117.

The petitioner requested the court to declare null and void the Form 47 issued on February 9 and also suspend the Aleem Khan’s victory notification issued on February 15.

Ali Ijaz Buttar urged the IHC to order the ECP to compile up the result anew in presence of all the candidates.

He also requested the court to summon all the record from the ECP and the concerned returning officer.

The Election Commission, RO, and other candidates have been named as respondents in the petition.

Aleem Khan had won the NA-117 election by pocketing 91,489 votes while Ali Ijaz Buttar had obtained 80,838 votes.
