PTI, JUI-F reject General Elections 2024 as ‘massively rigged’

ISLAMABAD: In a significant development in Pakistan’s political scene, PTI and JUI-F rejected the 2024 General Elections as “massively rigged which would bring in more instability and chaos” in the country.

A delegation of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) arrived at the residence of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad.

The delegation, comprised of Asad Qaiser, Amir Dogar, Barrister Saif, and Fazal Ahmed, sought to engage in discussions with Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Notably absent from the delegation was PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan. It was earlier being reported that Gohar would also be part of the delegation.

The delegation convened with Maulana Fazl to deliberate on the recent elections and the prevailing political landscape in the country, specifically addressing concerns regarding potential election irregularities.

According to sources, the PTI delegation relayed a message from former prime minister Imran Khan to Fazl.

They also extended an invitation to Fazl to collaborate with them in opposition and to jointly act against the alleged rigging during polls.

Later, PTI delegation along with JUI-F leaders told media that both the parties had agreed that the general elections 2024 was massively rigged and it would bring more instability and chaos and hence both the parties had rejected these polls.

However, both the parties agreed to continue their interaction for future strategy.

PTI’s Barrister Saif has said that a party delegation met JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman on the instructions of party founder Imran Khan to contact all political parties which were aggrieved by the irregularities in the conduct of the elections.

“PTI has announced that we will do a country-wide protest on Saturday and this process will continue because the JUI has also expressed doubts about the elections and their results and rejected them,” he said.

“We have a joint point on which we are united,” he said, adding that both the parties would hold talks and continue their movement and protests together till the people received their rights.
