10 policemen martyred in terrorist attack on D.I. Khan police station

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: At least 10 policemen embraced martyrdom and nine others sustained injuries when terrorists attacked a police station in Dera Ismail Khan in the wee hours of Monday.

Police said terrorists attacked a police station in tehsil Daraban of DI Khan late on Sunday night killing 10 police personnel and injuring nine others.

Police said terrorists from all sides attacked on police station, hurled hand grenades and resorted to intense firing.

The security officials retaliated but the terrorists taking cover of the dark managed to escape. All the injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital for treatment. Police and security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation.

It may be recalled that on December 12, 2023 the terrorists had attacked Daraban police station left three cops embraced martyrdom. The terrorists had hit their explosive-laden vehicle with the main gate of the police station. At least 16 security personnel had also sustained wounds in the attack.

Dr Gohar Ejaz strongly condemns terrorist attack on DI Khan police station

Caretaker Interior Minister Dr Gohar Ejaz on Monday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Dera Ismail Khan police station.

The Interior Minister in condemnation statement expressed deep sorrow and regret over the martyrdom of 10 police personnel in the attack.

Dr Gohar Ejaz said that the brave children of the nation laid down
their lives for the safety of the nation adding that the entire nation was presenting salutes to the martyrs and praying for their high status.

He said that the government stands with the families of martyrs and sharing their grief with them.

Praying for the recovery of the 6 youths injured in the attack, Dr. Gohar Ijaz said that the Police have rendered immeasurable sacrifices in the war against terrorism.

The interior minister said that the terrorists who attack security forces and civilians do not deserve any concession and the whole nation was united in the fight against terrorism, Inshallah this evil will be rooted out.

Terrorist attack on DI Khan police station condemnable: Solangi

Caretaker Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, and Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Solangi has said that terrorist attack on Dera Ismail Khan police station was strongly condemnable.

In a condemnation statement on Monday, expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of 10 police personnel in the terrorist incident and condoled with the bereaved families of the martyrs.

Murtaza Solangi paying tribute to the bravery of soldiers who laid down their lives for the safety of the nation, said terrorists were enemies of peace and stability in the country.

“Cowardly acts of terrorism cannot dampen the spirits of the nation to root out this scourge from the soil of Pakistan,” he remarked.

“The entire nation stood by the police and security forces to end terrorism,” he added.

“Any attempt to harm national security will be dealt with with iron hands,” he said.

The information minister prayed for the speedy recovery of the personnel injured in the terrorist incident.
