Couple ends life after killing 3 daughters over ‘loan nonpayment’

FAISALABAD/SHIKARPUR/NOWSHERA: A couple committed suicide after killing their three daughters in Faisalabad over failure to pay off a loan while a person gunned down his mother and young brother over some family dispute, the police concerned confirmed on Friday.

According to police and rescue officials, a couple committed suicide after killing their three daughters following their failure to repay a loan. The officials informed that the incident took place in Dajkot area of Faisalabad, where a man identified as Tahir and his wife Naheed committed suicide after killing their three daughters.

The police said that Tahir had taken a loan amounting to Rs300,000 from various persons but was unable to pay it off due to poor financial situation.

“A letter found from the pocket f Tahir, stating that he was committing suicide after failure to pay his loan,” the police said.

The bodies were shifted to the hospital by the rescue teams for medico-legal formalities.

Last year in December, a man killed his wife and three minor daughters on the pretext of saving his honour in Muzaffargarh.

According to details, the suspect, Afzal slit the throat of his wife Azra and three daughters named Taskeen, 4 years, Misbah 3 years and an infant of 10 days in the limits of ‘satpur’ police station and escaped from the scene.

Man guns down mother, brother

In Nowshera, a man gunned down his mother and young brother over some family dispute.

According to police, the incident took place in Nizampur area of Nowshera where accused Sabeel fired indiscriminate bullets on his family members.

As a result of firing mother and younger brother of accused were killed on the spot.

The culprit fled the scene after committing the dual murder.

The bodies were shifted to hospital for postmortem.

The police after registering a case into the incident started raids to arrest the culprit.

Five dead in Shikarpur accident

Meanwhile in Shikarpur, at least five passengers were dead in a tragic accident when a car, on the way from Quetta to Naushehro Feroze, plunged into a gorge due to dense fog on Friday.

According to local police, the speeding car went out of control and fell into the gorge at Southern Bypass in Shikarpur. As a result, five people travelling in the car lost their lives.

The ill-fated vehicle was heading to Naushehro Feroze from Quetta and the initial reports suggested that the cause of the deadly accident was speeding and dense fog.

The rescue teams have reached the spot and carried out rescue and relief operation.
