KP begins houses registration, GIS Mapping to strengthen health sector

PESHAWAR: Under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Human Capital Investment Project, the provincial government has launched a door-to-door registration and GIS mapping project to strengthen the health sector and facilitate the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthcare Commission in registration and geo-tagging of health centers.

According to media reports, the project is being implemented through a joint venture between Finkan Services and Ahsar Foundation, selected through an open and competitive bidding process. Financial support for the completion of the project has been provided by the World Bank.

Survey teams have started door-to-door visits and are assisting health care providers in registration of health care establishments.

To date, these survey teams have tagged 15,000 health centers in the Peshawar, Mardan and Malakand divisions of the province and successfully registered 3,500 new institutions on payment of a registration fee of Rs100 as prescribed by the board.

All health care service providers in the province are requested to cooperate with the survey teams and facilitate them in providing the required data. All information provided will be kept confidential.

The project is expected to play an important role in registration, quality control and identification of grants in the province and awareness of citizens at large.
