Bandits kidnap 5 police officers in Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR: Bandits attacked the police picket in Kache Kot Shahu area of Khanpur and allegedly kidnapped all the officials including SHO Kot Shaho Mahboob Brohi, Head Muharr, police confirmed on Wednesday.

According to the media reports, the unknown kidnappers took the police officers and fled to the Kacha area. As soon as the incident was reported, there was a stampede in the Shikarpur police and a heavy force was called in the area of Kot Shahu Kache.

Meanwhile, Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (R) Maqbool Baqir has expressed his anger over the abduction of 5 officials including SHO Kot Shahu in Shikarpur and directed the IG Police to reach Shikarpur and rescue the hostages. He said that if the officials of the law enforcement agencies kidnap and take away the robbers, then Allah is the guardian of the safety of the people.

The Caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh expressed his indignation and said, “Is the law of the jungle working or is the police asleep?” SSPs and DIGs sit in homes and do policing which is intolerable. This province and the people here do not need such police officers. He issued orders to DIG Larkana and SSP Shikarpur to give an explanation.

Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh said that action will be taken against the DIG and SSP if the SHO, head Muharar and police personnel are not recovered. He gave time to recover the abducted police officials within 3 days and said that I myself will inspect the police stations and the offices of all the police officers. Strict action will be taken against those who do not work according to the rules in the district or police station. Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh said that an inquiry report should be submitted, were all the police officers sleeping?
