ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister (PM) Anwaarul Haq Kakar has directed to accelerate the procedure of privatization of the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) facing financial losses
The directives were issued by the prime minister during a meeting with the Caretaker Minister for Privatization Fawad Hassan Fawad on Monday.
Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar emphasized that the privatization of such SOEs was vital to save the national exchequer from further financial loss.
The prime minister in this regard lauded the role played by the Privatization Facilitation Council.
Last month, the caretaker premier had directed authorities to expedite the privatization process of loss-making Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
PM, Minister discuss issues relating energy, petroleum division affairs
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar was called on by Caretaker Minister for Energy Muhammad Ali on here on Monday.
Premier and caretaker federal minister discussed matters relating to energy and petroleum division’s affairs during the meeting.
Caretaker PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar was briefed on measures being taken to promote foreign investment in mineral sector in Balochistan and other parts of the country under Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The meeting was also briefed on energy reforms’ measures and crackdown against the power thieves.
The caretaker prime minister appreciated the energy ministry and law enforcement agencies for launching operation against the power thieves.
