COMSATS, Spectre Solutions join forces for drone technology, its applications’ collaboration

ISLAMABAD: The Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) and Spectre Solutions, a Polish tech company specialising in drones, the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), have entered into an agreement for cooperation and collaboration in drone technology and its diverse applications.

During the online ceremony held on September 27, 2023, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Executive Director COMSATS, Ambassador Dr. M. Nafees Zakaria, and the Chief Information Officer of Spectre Solutions, Mr. Sebastian Konkol.

With a mission deeply rooted in sustainable development, COMSATS boasts a membership of 27 countries from the Global South. It operates a Network of 25 International S&T Centers of Excellence, diligently advancing scientific research, innovation, and technology.

Spectre Solutions excels and specializes in development of customized drones/ UAVs. The tech company aims to solve important logistics and control problems with the help of latest drone technologies, providing a sense of security for people in need, particularly in emergency situations.

The MOU will pave the way inter-alia for research and development, knowledge sharing with eventual joint production of drones; collaboration for projects involving use of Spectre UAVs; exchange of experiences, knowledge and contacts; collaboration on pilot and other relevant trainings; conducting studies, and holding conferences, meetings and trainings.

The collaboration reflects the shared commitment of COMSATS and Spectre Solutions to push the boundaries of technology and innovation, ultimately contributing to sustainable development on a global scale.
