Chinese group announces to establish electric vehicle plant, showrooms

ISLAMABAD: A Chinese car manufacturing group Xinjian Jingyi Cheng Group has announced to establish electric vehicle plant in Pakistan and showrooms in big cities of the country.

The announcement was made during meeting of of delegation of Xinjian Jingyi Cheng Group led by Assistant Chairman, GU Xongquan with Vice President of FPCCI Mr. Amin Ullah Baig and chairman of Capital Office at FPCCI Capital Office Islamabad on Thursday.

The Chinese delegation during the meeting with FPCCI officials held an extensive discussion about the investment landscape of Pakistan.

The assistant chairman of Xinjian Jingyi Cheng Group, Mr. GU Xongquan briefed their company and entering the Pakistani market and interest in setting up their manufacturing unit and Showrooms in Pakistan and said that is a large owned enterprise group engaged in five industries, i.e., the electromechanical and hydraulic industry, light power industry, vehicle industry, international trade industry, and production & service industry. Jincheng Corporation is a hi-tech enterprise.

He further said that Pakistan is a country, where cars are the main means of transport. Rising global oil prices have led to a sharp increase in gasoline prices, making it imperative for consumers to switch to new energy markets. “However, in the long run, electric cars save much more fuel cost than petrol run Car,” Our Group emphasizes the innovation and development of automobiles with modern technology and the integration of resources,”

Amin Ullah Baig Vice President of FPCCI and chairman of the Capital Office, appreciated investment from Xinjian Jingyi Cheng Group and urged on expedited the investment process to achieve mutual benefits. He noted that Chinese brands are already operating in Pakistan and are popular among the masses. China is leading the development of key technologies for electric vehicles, and Pakistan welcomes the investment of Chinese electric vehicle enterprises, as well as accelerating the roll-out of China-Pakistan new energy vehicle industry cooperation. He further that new energy vehicle technology has become an essential track for the fourth industrial revolution. She stated that the growth of the new energy vehicle industry requires supportive policies and production.

Vice President of FPCCI and Chairman of Capital Office briefed them about the attractive policies of the Government of Pakistan for investment in the eclectic vehicles sector and assured the Chinese enterprise of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry full support for its planned endeavors in Pakistan.
