PEF announces results of Quality Assurance Test for 2022-23

LAHORE: The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has released the results of the Quality Assurance Test conducted for the academic year 2022-23. A significant number of students from partner schools participated in the examination, showcasing the commitment of these institutions towards educational standards.

Out of the 7,326 partner schools, an impressive 87 percent achieved success in the examination, highlighting their dedication to quality education.

In total, 335,840 students from various programs and initiatives took part in the Quality Assurance Test. The results were particularly encouraging for schools affiliated with PEF’s Assisted School Program, Education Voucher Scheme, and New School Program.

Among these, a total of 3,302 schools, 1,577 schools, and 1,475 schools respectively successfully passed the examination, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining educational standards.

A noteworthy aspect of the results was the exceptional performance of female students. Surpassing the number of male students, a staggering 182,707 female students achieved success in the examination. This accomplishment underscores the importance of empowering and supporting female students in their educational journeys.

However, the results also highlighted areas for improvement. The spokesperson for PEF revealed that 413 schools failed the test once, while 436 schools failed twice, and 44 schools consecutively failed the Quality Assurance Test.

The Foundation uses these results as a means to assess and maintain the educational standards of partner schools.

To address the issue of underperforming schools, PEF has implemented a structured approach. Schools that fail the Quality Assurance Test for the first time receive a warning, emphasizing the need for improvement. Those that fail twice face a 50 percent reduction in their monthly payments, serving as a stronger incentive for them to prioritize quality education. If a school consecutively fails the test three times, its educational partnership with PEF is canceled.

In response to the results, Manzar Javed Ali, the managing director of foundation, congratulated the successful school partners for their outstanding performance.

He also directed the owners of unsuccessful schools to redirect their efforts towards delivering quality education. Ali stressed the importance of focusing on educational excellence to achieve better results in the upcoming Quality Assurance Test.

Qurat-ul-Ain Memon, the Deputy Managing Director (Operations), and Muhammad Shafiq Ahmed, the Director (QAI), echoed these sentiments. They extended their congratulations to the successful school partners and offered guidance to the owners of unsuccessful schools.

Memon and Ahmed emphasized the significance of prioritizing quality education to ensure improved results in the upcoming Quality Assurance Test.
