CM Naqvi directs for improved health facilities in major Punjab hospitals

LAHORE: Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Friday sought a plan to improve health facilities in major hospitals of Punjab.

During a special meeting, he directed the health secretary to submit the plan for providing healthcare services within seven days.

“A comprehensive plan will be made to provide all the necessary facilities at hospitals and carry out constructions and repairs,” it was briefed during the meeting.

“Hospitals will be shifted from old buildings to new ones. Biomedical machines, medical equipment and other facilities will also be provided in major hospitals,” it was stated during the briefing.

The meeting agreed on the proposal to establish health councils for major hospitals.

“60 basic standard medicines will be provided in seven major teaching hospitals of Punjab. 25 essential medicines will be provided in all the cardiology hospitals,” it was further stated during the briefing.

Officers concerned attended the meeting. Provincial Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Dr Javed Akram participated in the meeting through a video link.

CM calls LDA governing body meeting

Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has called a meeting of the governing body of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) today.

The officers concerned will attend the meeting.
