According to reports, the internet shutdown was initiated by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) following the Ministry of Interior’s orders.
The reason for the sudden shutdown has been attributed to the arrest of the Chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister Imran Khan by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
A spokesman of PTA told Pakistan Today/Profit that internet service has been suspended on the directions of Interior Ministry and it will be restored after finding directions from the Ministry of Interior.
