Parents fear abduction of ‘missing’ girl

KARACHI: The parents of a teenage missing girl on Wednesday feared their might been abducted by “her online friend with whom she used to play online Ludo.”

The Shah Faisal Police have registered an FIR on the application submitted the worried parents and launched further investigation without no clue or development so far.

It is to be noted that the 13-year-old girl has gone missing from her house situate din Shah Faisal area of Karachi.

According to the girl’s parents, she used to play online ludo game on her mobile device. They feared that unidentified “friends”, with whom she used to play the game might have lured her through the game into a meeting outside the safety of her home and then abducted her.

They urged the authorities to take swift action for safe recovery of their daughter.

In recent years, the use of online games and social media has increased significantly. With many games including collaborative and communicative mechanisms that allows players to communicate with each other. This opens up the possibility where unsuspecting youngsters are lured away from their homes and can be kidnapped.

Last year, a 14-year-old girl had gone missing from her home in Malir area of the port city and later, the girl was traced to be in Lahore after a free will marriage. The couple were then brought to Karachi where the court set up medical boards to determine her age and review whether her marriage was coerced or of free will and whether the union was legal or not.
