PDM can’t defeat PTI in elections at any cost: Ex-KP CM

SWAT: Former chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan on Sunday shared four and half years’ performance of his government with people of his constituency and challenged that the eleven parties PDM could defeat the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in elections even if the number of its constituent parties rises to eighteen parties.

Mahmood Khan was addressing a huge crowd gathered to welcome him upon arrival in his native town following dissolution of the Provincial Assembly. The former chief minister was accorded a red carpet welcome by workers and people of the area.

While addressing a huge reception at Nishat Chowk in Mingora, Mahmood Khan said that he was grateful to people of Malakand division for the wonderful welcome, saying felt proud of this public love. “You created history today as no ruler can face the public once he steps down the rule but today I am among the public”, he pointed out. He said when they got the government, there was an economic crisis in the country, which was aggravated by the ensuing Covid-19 pandemic and floods. “But we managed our country honestly and led the country on the path of development under the leadership of Imran Khan.”

Former federal minister Murad Saeed and former members of assembly Fazal Hakeem and Azizullah Gran were present on the occasion.

Earlier, on reaching Chakdara Interchange, the former chief minister was welcomed by the former parliamentarians and workers from different districts of the division and later took him to Swat in a procession.

“After 1969, Swat district witnessed unprecedented development the PTI rule,” he claimed and added that a network of hospitals, colleges and roads had been laid in the entire division.

He said that the people of Swat had rendered great sacrifices during the war against terrorism similar the Pashtun nation sacrifices they had offered for the creation Pakistan.

He further said that the PTI would never tolerate more terrorism activities in Swat and Malakand division.

Speaking about the propaganda regarding loans, Mahmood Khan informed: “Purpose of taking more loans by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was to lay a network of development, which has yield unimaginable results in shape of development in every nook and cranny of the province.”

He said that the federal government owed Rs280 billion to the provincial government. “The ‘fake’ prime minister had made a claim regarding selling his clothes, but I want to tell him who will buy your clothes?

Mahmood Khan further said that the IMF had made it clear that they will not give loans until Imran Khan signs the agreement.

He said that the “fake” prime minister had set a record by forming a cabinet of 83 members and they should be ashamed of wasting the nation’s treasury.

“The ‘fake’ prime minister has only one option to announce the election as soon as possible because it is not his business to rule or not and now it is the people who will decide who can lead this country on the path of development,” he concluded.
