Anti-narcotics force seizes over 3,000 kg drugs

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted 34 operations in different parts of the country over the last week, seizing 3000.65 kilogrammes of drugs and 4,820 litres of prohibited chemicals, it said.

During the counter-narcotics operations on November 21-27, the force arrested 32 people including two women, while impounding 10 vehicles that were being used for smuggling, the ANF said in a statement.

In Balochistan, the ANF recovered 2583.99 kilogrammes of drugs, 3,795 litres of hydrochloric acid and 1,025 litres of acetic anhydride in eight operations. It has arrested two people involved in drug smuggling while seizing two vehicles, the statement said.

The police in Punjab recovered 168.28 kilogrammes of drugs and seized three vehicles in eight operations, arresting 11 people, including a woman.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it seized 242.02 kilogrammes of drugs and five vehicles, and arrested 11 people in eight operations.

The ANF in Sindh confiscated 1.53-kilogramme of heroin in a couple of operations while arresting three people.

From the northern parts of the country, the ANF recovered 4.84 kilogrammes of drugs in eight operations and arrested five people in drug smuggling.

All the cases were registered, and further investigations have been underway, according to the statement.
