Some ‘people’ wish to pit PTI, Army against each other: Imran

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Friday said that some people wish to pit PTI and Pakistan Army against each other.

“Clash with the Pakistan Army no way. This country is mine, and so is its army,” Imran Khan said during an interview with a private news channel on Friday.

The PTI chief pointed out, “he only wants strong institutions…being run on merit as strong institutions mean a strong country.”

Imran Khan said that he is going to Rawalpindi for the nation and the nation stands with him. “The Rawalpindi protest would be the biggest gathering in history, the nation has risen,” he added.

He added that he never thought about appointing his favourite Army Chief. “The only thing he wanted was to do the appointment on merit,” he added.

The PTI Chief added that if the government was not ready for elections then there was no point for talks to them. “The only way to stabilize the country is a fresh election,” he stressed.

Imran Khan said that there are good and bad people in every institution.

The former premier said that the PDM government has done nothing but trash cases against them in the past 7 months.

Sea of people to converge in Rawalpindi today

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) issued a well-conceived and comprehensive plan for timely arrival of conveys from Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Sindh to participate in the historic “Haqeeqi Azaadi” Long March scheduled for Saturday (today).

The PTI provincial chapters finalized their strategies as sea of people would converge in Rawalpindi from across the country on the call of their captain PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

According to the plan, the people of KP province would leave for Rawalpindi on Saturday in huge numbers, like the rest of the country. The PTI KP caravan would leave from the province under the leadership of PTI provincial President Pervez Khattak to participate in the real freedom march.

The caravans of KP South Region would reach Rawalpindi via CPEC route under the leadership of Provincial Secretary General Ali Amin Gandapur.

The convoys of districts Peshawar, Khyber and Mohmand would depart from Peshawar Toll Plaza at 9am.

Similarly, the convoy of district Charsadda would depart from Charsadda Toll Plaza at 9:30 am for Rawalpindi, while the cavalcade of district Mardan would depart from Mardan Toll Plaza at 10 am.

Likewise, the Haqeeqi Azaadi March’s convoy from district Malakand would set out from Colonel Sher Khan Interchange at 10:15 am.

The convoy of district Swabi would depart from Swabi Toll Plaza at 10:45 am and the cavalcade of district Nowshera would leave from Swabi Rest Area at 11 am.

The convoys from Hazara region Hazara would depart from Hazara Motorway at 11:30 am and all KP convoys would reach Murree Road Faizabad, Rawalpindi by 12:30 PM.

Like in KP, the tsunami of people would proceed towards Rawalpindi to take part in the real freedom movement.

The huge cavalcades from across Punjab would reach Rawalpindi on November 26. The convoys from Gujranwala, Gujarat, Sialkot and Narowal would join the central convoy led by PTI General Secretary Central Punjab Hammad Azhar and reach Rawalpindi at 1 pm on Saturday.

Similarly, the convoy under the leadership of Provincial Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid would depart from Lahore at 6 am on Saturday and would reach Rawalpindi at 1 pm.

According to the set plan, the real Azadi March convoy departed from Kasur at 2:30 pm on Friday and would reach Rawalpindi at 10 pm via Chakri Interchange.

The convoy would depart from Sahiwal at 9 pm on Friday and would reach Rawalpindi at 7 am on Saturday.

Similarly, the actual Azadi March convoy would depart from Pakpattan at 8 pm and would reach its destination Rawalpindi at 6 am on Saturday, while the cavalcade would set out from Okara at 7 pm and would enter Rawalpindi via Chakri Interchange at 5 am on Saturday.

The real Azadi March convoy would leave from Shahpur at 7 am on Saturday and reach Rawalpindi at 1 pm via the highway.

Likewise, the convoy from Nankana Sahib would depart for Rawalpindi at 7 am on Saturday and would reach at 1 am.

The convoy would depart from Hasan Abdal at 7 am on Saturday and would reach Rawalpindi at 1 am.

The real Azadi March convoy would depart from Mandi Bahauddin at 8 am on Saturday and would reach Rawalpindi at 1 pm.

Moreover, PTI Sindh’s convoy departed from Sukkar on Saturday to participate in Haqeeqi Azadi March in Rawalpindi on the call of their party’s Chairman Imran Khan.

Admin grants permission to PTI for public gathering at Faizabad

The District Administration has granted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) the permission to hold its public gathering/sit-in at Faizabad, Murree Road for the party’s Long March, scheduled for Saturday (today).

On the application of Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, President PTI, Rawalpindi District, the administration granted the permission.

The District Administration issued a 56-point permit for the PTI to hold a public gathering/sit-in near Faizabad. The notification further said that a foreign cricket team would soon arrive in Rawalpindi, therefore the venue should be completely vacated after the rally and the public meeting.

In the notification, orders were also issued to the Rawalpindi Police to take necessary security measures for the rally.

It clarified that PTI Chairperson Imran Khan could only use the route decided by the PTI, Islamabad Administration and security agencies. Moreover, Imran Khan was barred from using a car with a sunroof before and after the rally.

The permit directed that Allama Iqbal Park could not be used for workers’ stay and should be completely vacated after the procession. Full implementation of the traffic plan by the traffic police was emphasized.

Anti-state sloganeering and the use of drone cameras were prohibited during rallies and public meeting.

The notification stated that the administration of the rally would be held responsible in case of any untoward incident or loss of life. It maintained that legal action would be taken for violating the terms and conditions.

The Rawalpindi Police have also issued guidelines that citizens should take alternative routes and call 15 in the case of an emergency.

Faizabad bus stop will be closed

Islamabad police announced that the Faizabad bus stop will be closed from 10:00 pm till the conclusion of PTI’s rally while public transport will be banned on the routes due to security measures.

It added that Islamabad police will intensify security checking of Faizabad’s hotels and flats. The police spokesperson said that Murree Road for Rawalpindi was closed for traffic, whereas, the routes from IJP Road 9 Avenue Junctions to Rawalpindi will be closed for public transport.

Earlier in the day, PTI started setting up the stage again at Faizabad after being stopped by the administration.

As per details, the stage organizers were stopped from setting up the stage at Faizabad earlier today. They were asked to stage the sit-in in Rehmanabad, Murree Road instead.

Later, the city administration granted permission to PTI to set up the stage at Faizabad but the decision was revised again.

Earlier, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) conditionally allowed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a public rally in Faizabad.

As per the notification, PTI has been asked to vacate Faizabad on the night of November 26 after a public gathering as England’s cricket team is reaching Pakistan for a test series.

Chairman PTI is barred from using a sunroof vehicle before or after the public gathering and has been directed to follow the route agreed upon with the administration.
