Rana Sana says recovering after ‘medical procedure’

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah was admitted to the AFIC hospital in Rawalpindi Thursday evening due to a heart condition and some tests and procedures were conducted.

However, the news made headlines on Friday evening after a photo of the minister went viral on social media lying on a stretcher for a medical procedure.

The interior ministry later issued a statement quoting the minister that he was doing fine.

“I had visited the hospital for some tests and procedures. I am recovering and would be back to office in a day or two. Please don’t visit me in the hospital as I plan to return home by Sunday,” the statement added.

Sana said that friends and family got worried after his photo went viral on social media. He said that he had an open heart surgery in year 2004 and check-up is mandatory every two, three years.
