RAWALPINDI: The Punjab police declined the Federal investigation authority (FIA) request for help in the arrest of former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed.
As per details, police refused to register the case when the FIA personnel reached Rawalpindi to arrest the former interior minister. According to sources, there were around 200 FIA personnel in two buses but they had to return without arrest as police declined to help them.
However, 15 to 20 FIA personnel decided to stay there. According to a video making round on social media, the FIA personnel are still roaming around Lal Haveli despite being denied help by the police. There are reports people questioning the FIA “stubbornness” to arrest Sheikh Rashid. They also condemned the government for using national institutes as tool for suppressing opponents.
