Military rescues another 87 people stuck in flood-hit areas

RAWALPINDI: The military teams have rescued another 87 people by carrying out 18 helicopter sorties in different parts of the country devastated by floods.

According to a statement issued by the National Flood Response and
Coordination Centre (NFRCC) so far 4,570 stranded Individuals have been
evacuated through helicopter sorties.

Weather Forecast

During the last 24 hours, rain/thundershower with isolated heavy rainfall
occurred in south and eastern Sindh, eastern Balochistan, Kashmir, Upper KP
and GB. Hot and humid weather remained elsewhere in the county. Yesterday’s
highest maximum temperature recorded at Turbat 42C, Sibi and Lasbela 41C.

In next 24 hours, rain-wind/thundershower (with isolated heavy falls) is
expected in Punjab, KP, eastern Sindh, GB and Kashmir.

Damages of Infrastructure & Private Properties

During the last 24 hours no infrastructure damage. A total of 12418 Km roads
and 390 Bridges have been damaged.

Worst affected districts of Sindh include Qambar Shahdad Kot, Jacobabad,
Larkana, Khairpur, Dadu, Noshero Feroz, Thatta and Badin.

In Balochistan districts include Quetta, Naseerabad, Jafarabad, Jhalmagsi,
Bolan, Sohbatpur and Lesbela.

KP include Dir, Swat, Charsadda, Kohistan, Tank and DI Khan and in Punjab
include DG Khan and Rajanpur.

So far 516 Army Aviation helicopters sorties have been flown to various
areas for evacuation of stranded people. In last 24 hours, 18 sorties have
been flown and evacuated 87 stranded individuals & delivered 32.88 Tons of
relief items to the flood affectees. Moreover, uptil now 4570 stranded
Individuals have been evacuated through helicopter sorties.

So far 147 Relief Camps and 278 Relief Collection points in Sindh, South
Punjab & Balochistan have been established across the country for flood
affectees.

Uptill now 8281.2 Tons of food items alongwith 1207.0 Tons of sustenance
items and 7403538 medicine items have been collected so far. However, 7940.6
Tons of food 1147.7 Tons of sustenance items and 7219698 medicine items have
been distributed uptill now.

More than 300 medical camps established so far in which more than 125,506
patients have been treated all across the country and provided 3-5 days’
free medicine.
