Organized campaign being run against Imran Khan: Asad

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Asad Umar on Wednesday claimed that an organized campaign is being run against Imran Khan.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the PTI leader said that the country’s politics is under the influence of “some rich people” and Imran Khan is fighting to end hegemony of “this small group” in the country.

Asad Umar said that FIA officials raided residence of Senator Saifullah Niazi and confiscated his laptop but claimed that real reason behind the raid was to harass PTI Chief. The PTI leader said that ‘illegal’ government should not have a right to appoint the new Army Chief so the current COAS should be given extension to take the matters forward.

Asad Umar also rebuffed rumors about Punjab government and claimed that PTI’s Punjab government was not in any danger as people are with Imran Khan.

On the other hand, Awami Muslim League Pakistan (AMLP) Chief Sheikh Rashid on Wednesday slammed the incumbent government over a huge number of Ministers in the cabinet.

“On the one hand, the imported government is increasing size of the cabinet on daily basis while on the other, has left the poor people at the mercy of skyrocketing rate of US dollar and flour prices”, he regretted in a series of tweets on Wednesday.

Taking to his twitter handle, the former Interior Minister Rashid said that after the electricity bills, school fee of children and house rent have gone berserk while poor people cannot light their stoves.
